I really agree with you on the family housing. I was raised on campus housing, and loved the access to academics and the fun things that go on on-campus. I am having a heck of a time now that I'm a non-traditional student finding a College/Uni with Family Housing on the east coast for my family. Little do Colleges and Universities understand, that by having family housing available, they increasing the chances of return customers (the children who grow up on their campuses). It's a great way to be raised and a great way for the parent/student to continue regular life and get ahead. Just wish there was more of it available!!
Thanks for the article!

There are a few colleges with programs specifically for single parents. I am applying to one in Massachusetts, but Pennsylvania, Ohio, and a few other East Coast locations have them!! It is great for young mothers/fathers to get that on campus experience even though they have a child!
You should add UMASS Amherst for Massachusetts

FYI: I attend University at Buffalo-Suny and they have family housing for single parents, married couples and even engaged couples and usually give priority to those students for housing. Its a state school but very well-respected as a research school and because of this, it is very reasonably. IJS

I think it's a good idea for colleges to diversify and add choices for housing other than the traditional student. Good Hub.
